It's considered one of the best traditions in all of college football. Running through the power " T" in Neyland Stadium in front of 100,000 screaming fans. It's truly a spectacle unlike any other in college football.
Tennessee is defined by many long-standing traditions, but running through the giant " Power T" is by far one of Tennessee's most beloved. Started in 1965 by two Tennessee legends coach Doug Dickey and band director Dr. W.J. Julain, coach Dickey was looking for a new way for his UT team to run out into the field. Coach Dickey asked band director Dr. J.W. Julian for a way to block the opposing team while his team ran out from the visitor's sideline. Director Julian, thought about it for a few days and responded, " I guess we will make you a power T to run through. The rest say they say is Tennessee history.
